Chinese medicinal clinical studies have suggested that using acupuncture as a preventative approach to colds and flu can reduce the incidence of upper respiratory tract infection and shorten the duration of the illness. Acupuncture and Chinese medicine work by rebalancing the body’s systems, regulating the body’s healing energies, and enhancing the immune system.
Even though germs, bacteria, and viruses are everywhere—in the food we eat, the air we breathe, and the water we drink—according to Chinese medical theory, they do not cause disease. Illness occurs when our Wei Qi and our meridian organ systems are weak and out of balance. When this occurs it creates a hospitable for germs, bacteria, and viruses to thrive, leading to a cold, the flu, or worse. continue reading »

When using functional medicine, results will vary with each person. Some people feel dramatic improvement within the first month, others may take a bit longer. My standard programs are for a minimum of 3-6 months. Remember, your body did not fall apart over night. Years of stress and illness takes its toll and it takes a proper amount of time to restore your body to normal functioning. On average, it takes one month of repair for each year that you have suffered from a particular symptom.

The functional medicine based adrenal protocol that I use was learned during my training with Dr Kalish, at the Kalish Institute. This particular adrenal protocol has been used for the past 25 years with more than 8000 people. However, true success with the program is completely dependent on the diligence of each person.
Following the protocol and making the recommended lifestyle changes, ulitimately, is your sole responsibility. If you take the lab test and do not follow the protocol, you will not see improvement. However, if you are committed to working the program, I am committed to assisting and empowering you to take back your health and experience life changing results.

Functional medicine treats chronic disease by discovering the underlying cause of illness. It is systems focused, rather than symptoms focused. The primary goal is to prevent or reverse chronic illness. We do this by testing and correcting the three body systems. We are looking for the underlying cause of the symptoms. Your symptoms are clues that we use to determine what testing is needed. The underlying cause is discovered by analyzing your test results. An individualized program is created to correct the underlying cause of your symptoms. When this occurs, your symptoms disappear.
